The 65-year-old mother of four was said to have suffered a stroke and has been receiving treatment at the Dr Nelio Mendonca Hospital on the island of Madeira. According to SunSport, the 34-year-old has nothing to worry about as Mrs Dolores Aveiro is conscious and stable.
The publication further revealed that Ronaldo's mother had already undergone a procedure to remove a blood clot from an artery.
She is now expected to go through the same process that could be described as 'mechanical thrombectomy'.
Meanwhile, Dolores' family has asked the health service provider to allow her to remain in the Intensive Care Unit ahead of the arrival of the former Manchester United star. Reports from the 65-year-old's family claim none of her children has made any statement, but added that the Juventus forward would arrive later this evening. Ronaldo was in Spain over the weekend to cheer his former teammates to victory over rivals Barcelona as the chase for La Liga title hots up.
